Lindsay Gibson

Today we’e talking with the lovely Lindsay Gibson to find out about her new novel coming with Harpeth Road. Without further ado, let’s jump right in!

We love being whisked away to romantic destinations. Tell us about the setting of your novel.

The story is set right on the Cape Cod’s picturesque bay. This unique coastline is felt throughout the story with its peaceful waves, tranquil coves, and secluded area—a perfect set up for romance.

Choose one of your characters and have them give us one piece of relationship advice.

Alicia (Lana’s best friend): Known for her strong stance, the “lawyer” in her always has something to say—not to mention her ability to pay attention to all the fine details! If she were to give advice, it would always begin with, “Make sure you fully understand what you are getting yourself into.”

What other authors in your genre do you love to read?

Right now I am reading Kate Clayborn’s newest romantic release The Other Side of Disappearing. I also love to keep my eyes out for anything by Robyn Carr, Pamela Kelly, Nancy Thayer or Willa Nash.

Behind-the-scenes glimpses are always exciting. Tell us one thing you did while writing your upcoming novel.

I got to taste ALL of the recipes mentioned in this book by my good friend and a New England chef herself! Lana’s style is an exact replica of her style in the kitchen. There might be recipe sharing coming for readers!

Choose one of the following that happened to you or in your novel and tell us all about it: a sweet surprise, a loving gesture, a thoughtful gift, date-night idea, romantic dinner.

One night, my husband came into the kitchen and said “Get into the car, we’re going out to eat.” Realizing he’d taken care of all the childcare arrangements already, which is a little inside joke between us that he often forgets that part, I excitedly got in the car. He drove me to the beach with a blanket and a picnic dinner that he’d packed himself. It was three days before the Fourth of July, so there were fireworks in the distance in a nearby town. While dinner was not the greatest (cooking isn’t his strong suit), the loving gesture meant everything, making it a perfect date. Lana and Hunter in my new novel just might experience something similar!

Give us a three-song playlist that would be the soundtrack to your new book.

1-    Old Cape Cod – by Patti Page (How could I not include this old classic? The lyrics fit the descriptions and setting perfectly.)

2-    Pontoon by Little Big Town – for some laughs and a good time during one special scene in particular!

3-    Under the Boardwalk by the Drifters

Old classics are the best vibe for this traditional setting! You often hear them playing around the small towns.

Tell us your favorite part of the publishing process and why.

Outside of the cover reveal, I really enjoy the edits. It’s when I watch all my hard work turn into something magical!

What are you working on now?

Books three and four! I am also working on a children’s book to accompany the work I do in person with kids as a nutritionist.

Lindsay’s new novel with us is out May 21st! Keep an eye on our socials for more!
